This 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera S coupe spent time in California before the current owner purchased it on BaT in September 2021, and it now shows under 106k miles. It is powered by an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle and is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over black partial leather. Equipment includes the Motor Sound Package, 18″ hollow-spoke Technology wheels, a speed-activated rear spoiler, cruise control, and air conditioning. This final-year 993 C2S is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a stamped service booklet, a tire inflation kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The 993 C2S featured wider bodywork, a split rear grille, and revised bumper covers and side skirts in comparison with the contemporary Carrera. This example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and features headlight washers, fog lights, power-adjustable mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. The rear bumper was refinished in 2003, and a previous owner reported that scratches on the sunroof and stone chips on the front bumper were repaired in March 2017. The wiper arms were refinished and the sunroof seals and windshield washer nozzles were replaced in January 2022.
The 18″ hollow-spoke Technology wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Braking is handled by Porsche-branded calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. Work in January 2022 included installing European-specification springs and replacing the dampers, toe link, tie rod, and strut tops.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in black leather and complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include power height-adjustable front seats, cruise control, air conditioning, and a Becker-Porsche CR-210 cassette stereo. Sisal floor mats are fitted and a Sony 10-disc CD changer is installed in the front trunk. The shift knob was replaced in January 2022.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 180-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows under 106k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. The Carfax report notes that the instrument cluster was reprogrammed in June 2015.
The air-cooled 3.6L M64 flat-six features a VarioRam intake system and was factory rated at 282 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. The car is equipped with the optional Motor Sound Package, which added a revised intake and mufflers. The engine mounts were replaced in November 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle.
