This 1958 Porsche 356A coupe was refurbished and modified by Tuthill Porsche in the UK. The car is finished in silver over red upholstery and is powered by a replacement 1.6L flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Modifications include adjustable suspension, 15″ alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a sports exhaust system, earlier-style taillights, an external fuel filler, a louvered decklid, bucket seats, and a roll hoop. This modified 356A was featured in a 2021 Omaze charity fundraising sweepstakes, although the winner chose a cash alternative instead of the car.
Finished from the factory in Ivory (5704), the car was repainted silver in 2021. Exterior details include body-color bumpers, leather hood and deck lid straps, a central fuel filler, a fender-mounted sport mirror, a louvered decklid, beehive-style taillights, and a sports exhaust system with dual outlets.
Polished 15″ Group 4 alloy wheels wear 205/55 Continental EcoContact 6 tires. The car has been lowered, and equipment includes adjustable AVO dampers and four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features Speedster-style front bucket seats upholstered in red leather with corduroy inserts, which are complimented by a color-coordinated dash pad, rear bench, and door panels. Additional equipment includes a roll bar, body-color trim, and gray peppered carpets.
A black leather-wrapped MOMO Prototipo steering wheel frames a central VDO tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer displays 99k miles.
The replacement 1.6-liter flat-four is said to have been sourced from a 912 and was overhauled and modified by Tuthill Porsche in 2021. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
The Porsche certificate of authenticity shows factory colors, engine and transmission numbers, and a build date of February 12, 1958.
